The Schuhplattler – which literally means “slapping the soles of shoes” – is a dance that dates back deep into history. The challenging combination of dancing and acrobatic moves started a thousand years ago. Originating in Bavaria, this tradition then extended to Austria. Traditional costumes and spinning interspersed with joyful whoops are still required!
