SCHLOSS SCHÖNBRUNN ORCHESTER
Strauss Gala
20:00
Guido Mancusi, conductor
New Year’s Day at the end of September? You might well believe it when you see this closing programme worthy of Vienna’s famous New Year’s Day concerts! It includes waltzes, polkas and marches by the great composers of the Strauss dynasty, who had an unparalleled gift for formal dance music. This repertoire is the speciality of the Schloss Schönbrunn Orchester, which consists exclusively of musicians trained in Vienna – meaning they know a thing or two about triple metre!
