Salzburg’s “Mozart Week” takes a detour to the shores of Lake Geneva in the form of a French ensemble with a passion for the Austrian composer. The Van Kuijk Quartet’s recordings dedicated to Mozart have received critical acclaim. Alongside their compatriot, the violist Charlotte Bonneton, these four musicians explore the repertoire of Mozart’s string quintets. The composer chose to add a second viola to these mature works, thus recalling he loved to play this instrument.
