“The first edition of Classic Lab was a resounding success with our audiences given that every concert was fully booked – a first for the festival,” Mischa Damev, Director of Septembre Musical, is pleased to announce. “The lab opened up new ways of exploring classical music. The artists delivered completely original performances, and even we were surprised by some of the unexpected propositions. The greatest part of all is that classical music, as it was in the 19th century, is once again a hot topic of conversation. It has given it new life!” he adds.

Laurent Maire, President of Fondation du Septembre Musical, also applauds this success, “The foundation’s board of trustees is so proud of the first edition of Classic Lab and would like to express its gratitude to Mischa Damev for such a bold line-up in celebration of creativity. Five thousand spectators of all ages were given the opportunity to discover a new way of experiencing music. We can’t wait for the next Classic Lab in September 2025.”

In parallel, the festival opened culture up to over 1,000 children in the region through the Septembre Musical Jeunesse programme, developed in partnership with Nestlé since 2021. This cultural outreach programme aimed at school-age children has made classical music more accessible from an early age.
